Granby Boys and Girls Headed to Lacrosse Tournaments

GRANBY, CT — Both the boys and girls lacrosse teams from Granby Memorial High School will begin quests for state championships next week, as each has drawn a home match in the opening round of the CIAC Class S tournaments.

The girls, seeded fifth, host No. 12 Weston Tuesday, while the fourth-seeded boys entertain No. 13 North Branford Wednesday.

In 2015, the Bear girls won their only state championship; the boys are seeking their first title.

Darien is the top Class L seed in both the girls and boys divisions. New Fairfield (M) and St. Paul (S) are seeded first in the boys divisions, while Daniel Hand (M) and North Branford (S) hold the top spots for the girls.
