Granby, East Granby Set to Open Softball Tournaments

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Looking for their first-ever state championships, the softball teams from Granby Memorial and East Granby high schools begin their quests with home games Tuesday, as tournament pairings were announced Friday morning.

The fifth-seeded Bears open the Class M tournament by hosting No. 28 Cromwell, while East Granby, seeded No. 11 in Class S, will entertain No. 22 Shepaug Valley.

Top seeds in the four divisions are Southington (LL), Masuk (L), Northwestern Regional (M) and Stafford (S).
