Granby Obituary: Charles Witkowski, 65

Charles “Charlie” J. Witkowski, 65, of Granby, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Hartford to the late Nicholas “Joseph” and Lena (Rokosz) Witkowski, he has been a Granby resident for over 30 years. Charlie was a past member of the Lithuanian Society and worked as a chef for Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks. He was an avid fisherman, both freshwater and saltwater fishing, and he loved to cook. He enjoyed being out in nature and foraging for foods to add to his recipes.

Charlie is survived by his sisters, Nancy Peeke of Poqonock and Linda McGovern of Poquonock; and several cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 16 at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave Poquonock, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock. His family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM.
