
Margaret (Peggy) P. Ransom, 86, of East Hartland, passed away April 26, 2018 at Meadow Brook of Granby.
Born in Winsted, on March 26, 1932, the daughter of the late Leonard B. Ransom, Sr. and Bertha (Parmelee) Ransom. Peggy lived most of her life in East Hartland on the “family farm” and later lived in Stony Hill Village in Granby. She loved music of all kinds, had an appreciation of classic cars, and loved cats. In her later years, she worked tirelessly in her word puzzle books, and loved playing board games with her caregiver, Bethzaida.
She leaves behind a daughter, Sarah A. Holcomb and her husband Thomas, three grandchildren, David R. Ryder of Los Angeles, CA, Christopher L. Ryder of Collinsville, and Stephanie A. Ryder of Winchester, her brothers, George Ransom of Granby and Edward Ransom of East Hartland, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Leonard Ransom Jr., Ernest Ransom, Donald Ransom, Earl Ransom and her sister, Pauline Albanes.

Peggy’s family will receive friends at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby, on Saturday May 5, 2018 from 10AM to 12PM. A memorial service will follow at 12PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A reception will immediately follow at the First Church of Hartland’s Parish Hall, 94 Granville Rd, East Hartland.
