Granby's new elected officials, including First Selectman Scott Kuhnly, took office Monday night at a swearing in ceremony.
Retiring First Selectman John Adams did the honors and congratulated the new officials.
"This is a joyous event this evening ...We are celebrating Granby and the wonderful spirit of volunteerism. Without the many individuals that volunteer to fill our elected and appointed positions, the town of Granby as we know it would cease to exist as a place to live and raise our families," Adams said.
Adams reflected on the schools, roads, bridges, the new turf field and other town assets Granby has invested in during the past decade and thanked Town Manager Bill Smith before passing the gavel to Kuhnly.
“I am truly honored to have been elected as your first selectmen and I thank you for the trust you have instilled in me. I am very excited to get to work,” Kuhnly said.
“It’s easy to see why Granby is such a great place to live and raise a family. We are a community of people who - regardless of our political beliefs c- are about each other and this town as a whole. “
