Granby Resident Named to State Post

Attorney General George Jepsen has named a Granby woman to a top post for the state of Connecticut.

According to a release from the Connecticut Attorney General's office Monday, Margaret Q. Chapple of Granby will assume the position of Associate Attorney General for Litigation. She replaces Perry Zinn Rowthorn, who was named Deputy Attorney General. 

Chapple currently serves as Associate Attorney General for Administration and Management.

“Both Perry Zinn Rowthorn and Peggy Chapple have provided dedicated service to state of Connecticut and this office for many years,” said Attorney General Jepsen. “Time and again, Peggy Chapple has proved herself a capable and intelligent litigator and an effective leader. I have every confidence in their abilities, and I’m pleased to name them to these new roles within my administration.”

A University of Connecticut School of Law graduate, Chapple joined the Office of the Attorney General in 1985 and served as head of the Public Safety and Employment Rights departments. As Associate Attorney General for Litigation, Chapple will oversee all litigation in federal and state courts and administrative agencies as well as all investigations and settlement activities.

Zinn Rowthorn and Chapple will begin in their new roles on Friday, October 18.
