Granby Senior Center Staying Connected via Zoom During COVID

The Granby Senior Center has taken their programming online to try and keep our seniors in town connected during the pandemic. Once the Senior Center closed in March, the staff transitioned quickly to Zoom programming, offering games, informational programs and more.
The Senior Center will not be able to open until after Phase 3 so all of our fall programming will be online. Upcoming programs include: Music Bingo, Trivia, the Aging Mastery Program, Tai Ji Quan, History Lessons, A Survey of the Old Testament, Coffee and Conversation with special guests, Kelsey Riggs from ESPN and Bob Maxon from NBCConnecticut, a presentation on Bob Steele, Make your own friendship bracelet with Tully Meyer from McLean Home Care & Hospice, World Culture Series on Italy and much more!
While we are able to connect with many of our members, we are concerned for the seniors who do not have a way to get online or do not know how. We do regular checks with many who are isolated and we send out flyers and information periodically, however it still is a concern. The cost of laptops, tablets and internet is prohibitive for some as they are on fixed incomes. We are researching ways to assist those who need help.
