Guidelines for Submitting Letters to the Granby-East Granby Patch Editor

Campaign season for local offices is in full swing, which usually generates a considerable amount of letters to the editor.

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Friday marks the official beginning of autumn, and as the leaves begin to cover the grass, other brightly-colored objects are also appearing on lawns across Hartford and Tolland counties - campaign signs.

Campaigns for municipal elections are in full swing, and with that comes the inevitable letters to the editor. Granby-East Granby Patch has established some basic rules to which letter writers should adhere:

  • Patch Media welcomes letters to the editor on local topics, and reserves the right to edit letters for brevity or clarity.
  • Acceptable letters regarding political candidates will refer to the positive qualities of the candidate; letters which are considered negative toward a candidate's opponent will be edited or unpublished.
  • Please focus letters on local races and ballot questions.
  • Email letters, including the writer's name, address and phone, to tim.jensen@patch.com.
  • Deadline for letters is Oct. 31; letters received after that date will not be published.
