Route 20 In East Granby Reopened After Gas Leak [Updated]

Update: Route 20 has been reopened after workers capped a broken gas line, according to a Hartford Courant report. Traffic was cleared around 1:30 p.m. and work has resumed at the site.

Original story: A gas leak on Route 20 in East Granby has shut down the road near Rainbow Road.

According to an East Granby fire dispatcher, the leak originates from the gas station construction site on Route 20 near the airport parking lot.

Yankee Gas is on scene and traffic is being diverted. There is no word on when the road will re-open.
