Hayden Re-Elected to 4th Term as East Granby First Selectman
Malloy, Kilbon elected to finance board, while Republicans control school board.

Democrat Jim Hayden won his fourth term as the East Granby first selectman on Tuesday, handily defeating Republican challenger Bill O’Neill by 213 votes unofficially.
Hayden captured 58 percent of the vote (790) to O’Neill’s 42 percent (577).
“I’m very grateful to the voters for re-electing me for my fourth term,” Hayden said in a telephone interview.

Hayden said he planned to continue to work on the town’s infrastructure and being fiscally responsible.
“I look forward to the future,” he said.

In other races, John Ziobro (R) and Tom Short (D) were elected to the Board of Selectmen, both having received more votes than O’Neill.
Kirby Huget (R), James Feeney (R) and Dr. Rafael Adames (D) were elected to full terms on the Board of Education, while James Grenon-Francoline (R) and Joe Doering (D) were elected to 2-year terms.
About 36 percent of registered voters turned out at the polls, unofficially.
