Portland Fair. Annual Fair in Portland, CT.

Riverton Fair. Come and enjoy the rides and games again provided by Tufano Amusements from Cheshire CT.Ride Bracelets available Friday night and Saturday afternoon into Saturday night! The last country fair of the season!

Explore the Corn Maze at Lyman Orchards! With more than two miles of twisting and winding pathways carved within four acres of towering cornstalks, a hundred decision points, and just one way out, getting lost in our Annual Corn Maze will be a lot of fun!

ALL ABOUT BATS at the Lutz Children’s Museum. This time of year we often see bats depicted as scary creatures of the night. However, they are actually great to have around for controlling pests and even pollinating flowers! Come learn more about these misunderstood creatures.

Fiesta Latina at the Peabody Museum! Join us for our annual celebration of Latin American cultures! Well enjoy performances of traditional and contemporary music and dance, along with games, a fossil dig, live animals, crafts, face painting, and other activities for the whole family.

The Witch, the Broom and the Cauldron at the Bijou! The Witch, the Broom and the Cauldron is the first of three live theatre events for young children. We are fortunate to have this show written by the author of the original childrens book with the same title!!

Oktoberfest at Hunter Mountain Ski Area and Resort. German Heritage at Hunter Mountain, and join in an old-world tradition. Enjoy German-American music, Austrian music and local bands and family activities including pumpkin painting and crafts all for free!

Open Cockpit Day at the New England Air Museum. Kids will be able to climb into the cockpits of 12 vintage airplanes including two supersonic fighters, a Huey, the P-47 Thunderbolt, the Vintage DC-3! Hands on activities too!

Free Admission at the Mattatuck Museum. The second Sunday of every month is Community Free Day and the Museum welcomes you! Children (6-12) and their adult caregivers are invited to explore the Museum with a museum educator and then bring their imagination to the Studio.

Chowder Days at Mystic Seaport. Nothing’s better than chowder on autumn days and Mystic Seaport is just the place to indulge! Enjoy live music, croquet, scarecrow building, games, face painting, gourd painting, tumbling towers, and other family fun activities on the Village Green.

Happy Harvest Happenings at Sonny’s Place. Our miniature golf course is filled with hundreds of lit pumpkins and (not too spooky) Halloween music. Perfect for all ages with loads of FUN!

Pumpkin Patch Excursion at the Connecticut Trolley Museum. Catch a trolley to our pumpkin patch where kids can look for their favorite pumpkin. Catch the next trolley car back to the Visitors Center where your children can paint faces on their selection and have their faces painted too!
