Lane Closures To Affect Route 20 in East Granby

A DOT pavement preservation project will affect traffic patterns for about a month.

EAST GRANBY, CT — A pavement preservation project will begin Sunday night on Route 20, or Rainbow Road, between the intersection at Route 187 and the exit for the Bradley International Airport Connector in East Granby, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

All work associated with the project is weather dependent.

The pavement preservation will consist 1.95 miles of milling, both eastbound and westbound, 0-4 inches of old bituminous concrete pavement, repairing any cracks or potholes underlying the old bituminous surface, replacing deteriorated catch basin tops with new ones and placing new bituminous concrete pavement.

The construction will utilize a lane closure to begin on Sunday night, June 17, and will be in place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, with Friday night as the rain date, for approximately one month.

One lane will be maintained in each direction on Route 20.
