Granby Assistance Programs

Granby Senior Center Transportation-The Granby Senior Center will provide transportation to essential medical appointments and to local grocery stores and pharmacies. Please call 860-844-5353 for more information and requirements.

Granby Food Pantry-Located at 248 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. Granby Food Pantry Hours: Tuesday’s 10:30 a.m. – Noon / Thursday’s 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. UPDATE Call Farmington VNA to set up an appointment to pick up your food 860-651-3539

“Waste Not Want Not Community Kitchen” Free Community Meal every Wednesday 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.U PDATE- Drive through service only at this time. South Congregational Church, 242 Salmon Brook St, Granby, CT 06035. No qualification necessary—just show up. The meal is free, but an offering is always welcome.

Mobile FoodShare-1:30 – 2:00 p.m. Every other Tuesday (refer to the schedule below). Located behind South Congregational Church, Granby, CT. Please park behind the church and Visiting Nurses Building only. Please remember to bring your own bags. For more locations or weather permitted cancellations visit FoodShare on the web at www.foodshare.org. Upcoming dates: March 10, 24; April 7, 21; May 5, 19’June 2, 16, 30

Geisslers is offering delivery for a reduced rate of $5.00 OR you can do FREE PICKUP. Either call in your order at 860-623-0176, or visit them on their website geisslers.com to order. They are offering special hours for seniors from 7am to 8am daily.

Stop & Shop has offered special hours to anyone over the age of 60. The hours are between 6:00 am until 7:30 am. The stores will then open for regular business at 7:30. You can order online at www.stopandshop.com. There is a delivery charge.

McLean Meals on Wheels Each meal is $9.95. You do not need to order for 5 meals a week, you can order what works best for you. 860-658-3980 (options for lower income households are available, please ask for the forms when you call)

Oktober Kitchen- $35.00 minumum order. $8.00 delivery fee to Granby. You can call in an order at 860 533 0588, online at www.oktoberkitchen.com, or email them at customerservice@octoberkitchen.com. They have weekly menus you can chose your options from. They have single serve, meals for 2, and family size meals for 4-6 people. (This does not provide any discounts to low income families, however, has a lot of flash freeze meals for those who can afford it)

CVS- is offering prescription deliveries in Granby. You can go online to register at cvs.com or you can call 860-653-4221 and speak to a pharmacist.

Renter’s Rebate-As of now, Renter’s Rebate appointments will be starting in June. The program does not end until October, so there will be plenty of time to get your application completed

Tax Filing Extensions- The deadlines to FILE and PAY federal and CT State income taxes are extended to July 15, 2020.
