North Granby Man Charged In Racial Incident

A man has been charged following allegations that he used racial epithets against a woman and her young son.

NORTH GRANBY, CT — A North Granby man has been arrested in connection with a racial incident that occurred earlier this month in Bloomfield, according to FOX 61. David Pfiffner, 43, of North Granby, was charged with two counts of second-degree breach of peace.

Maryvann Duncan, who is African American, said her and her young son were harassed in a local store on June 4. The suspect, another shopper, had used crude language and racial epithets against them.

Duncan told FOX 61 that her son was "extremely traumatized by this event" and was now afraid to leave his home.
