Good morning, Granby and East Granby. Today is Monday, Oct. 21, 2013; there are 71 days left in the year.
Friends, I know I am not making any earth-shattering observations here, but babies are like cats.

You buy toys for them, which they may take an interest in for a few minutes. But then they start playing with stuff that not only isn’t a toy, but is life-threatening. The power cord to my computer is a frequent target for the baby.

Things to know this week:
The Granby Board of Selectmen meeting planned for Monday has been cancelled.
The Granby Planning and Zoning Commission meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. An agenda has not yet been posted.
Thursday the Halloween Parade at the East Granby Public Library at 6 p.m. is not to be missed. Kids can come in costume for stories, glow-in-the-dark bowling, pumpkin decorating, a visit from a police officer and treats.Â
Granby Square and Contra dances start up Friday at 7 p.m. at the Granby Grange #5 Hall. Ages 10 and up with live music. Details are here.
There will be a meeting regarding ambulance service in East Granby on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Senior and Community Center. The meeting discusses the town's needs and upcoming changes. Details are here.
The East Granby Board of Selectmen are scheduled to meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. No agenda has yet been posted.
