Woman Injured In Fall From Horse On Granby Hiking Trail

The victim suffered serious injuries, and was flown to a hospital via LifeStar medical helicopter.

GRANBY, CT — The LifeStar medical helicopter was called to a hiking trail in Granby Thursday afternoon to aid a woman who sustained serious injuries caused by a fall from a horse.

Granby police and emergency medical personnel were called at 4:11 p.m. to a publicly accessible hiking trail near Day Street South and Simsbury Road. The victim was flown to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Capt. William Tyler said.

Police have not yet released more details about the incident, other than to state the victim is a woman and firefighters responded to the scene, a standard practice when LifeStar is called.
