3 Brunswick School Students Test Positive For Coronavirus

GREENWICH, CT — Three Brunswick School students have tested positive for the coronavirus and others have been asked to quarantine, school officials said Monday.

Head of School Thomas Philip said the three middle school students were exposed to the virus while engaged in "off-campus youth sports." The students tested positive over the weekend, he said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"We have worked closely with the Department of Health to perform an extensive contact tracing process and, as a result, have identified several other students and/or faculty who qualify as contacts of the infected students," Philip said in an email. "Those individuals, in turn, are quarantining at home. Most importantly of all, thus far our understanding is that the three infected students are feeling well, despite their positive test results."

According to Philip, 23 students in total are currently in quarantine and all divisions of the school will remain open.

Brunswick is an independent college preparatory school for boys consisting of a preschool, lower school and middle school on King Street and an upper school on Maher Avenue. The school was founded in 1902, according to their website.
