Be Careful Around Utility Lines, Urge Greenwich Officials

Several power lines were knocked down in Greenwich during Tuesday's severe storm.

From the Town of Greenwich: While most utility repairs of the damage caused by Tuesday’s powerful thunderstorms are nearing completion in Greenwich, we are forwarding this message from the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection regarding safety around downed power lines.

Eversource field crews have witnessed people moving, driving over and walking over downed power lines. This is a potentially dangerous and deadly situation should these lines be live.

Eversource reminds customers to be mindful of downed wires when clearing brush and storm debris.
