Car Theft Under Investigation In Greenwich: Police

Two suspects stole a car in the early morning hours on Tuesday, police said.

GREENWICH, CT — Police are investigating a car theft which occurred in the early morning hours Tuesday in Greenwich.

According to police, at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, two suspects approached a parked car in the area of East Putnam Avenue and Milbank Avenue. The occupant of the vehicle was asleep and awoke to the sight of the two suspects removing her from the car. She yelled at them to stop, police said, but they ultimately were able to drive off in the vehicle. Police said it was a gray 2018 Mercedes Benz.

"Greenwich Police Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries when being removed from the vehicle but refused medical treatment," said Capt. Mark Zuccerella.

The Greenwich Police Department Detective Division was notified and has been actively investigating the incident since it was reported.

Zuccerella said he will release more information as it becomes available.
