CT Weather: Heavy Rain Thursday, Snow Friday Morning
The National Weather Service said parts of the state could see a few inches of snow.

CONNECTICUT — After a few weeks with no snow, there's a chance of light accumulation Friday morning across Connecticut.
A low pressure system will move close enough to Connecticut on Thursday to produce rain initially, possibly heavy at times, and strong winds will cause temperatures to drop. The precipitation is expected to end as a burst of snow across the state early Friday. Fox 61 meteorologist Dan Amarante said up to 2 inches of slushy snow could accumulate.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for northern Connecticut.

"Rain will change to snow late Thursday night into Friday morning," the weather service said. "While the current expectation is for 1 to 3 inches of snow across most of the area, there is a low chance of some locations picking up as much as 4 or 5 inches."
In addition, strong northeast winds may gust as high as 40 to 50 mph, the weather service said.

Concerning southern Connecticut, the weather service said light rain is possible Thursday morning and an inch or two of rain is possible as periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected late Thursday. Cold air will move in early Friday and the precipitation is expected to change from rain to snow. Once the precipitation ends Friday morning, it will remain very cold throughout the day and night.
Rain moves in tomorrow (Thursday) during the day. It'll be a rainy afternoon and evening before changing to snow by Friday morning. We could have 1" to 2" of slush on Friday AM. After that, it's game on for spring this weekend and next week! #fox61 pic.twitter.com/fyzJr3AH7U
