'Dangerous' Heat Forecast For This Weekend In Connecticut
The National Weather Service released rain totals from Wednesday's storms and detailed storm reports from across the state.

CONNECTICUT — An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued in advance of this weekend and temps could feel as hot as 110 degrees this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. You'll want to stay indoors as much as possible this weekend as the air may be unhealthy for at-risk groups.
The National Weather Service says Connecticut will continue to see "scattered showers and thunderstorms" today and there is a chance for more showers tonight too. Temps will rise significantly along with the humidity on Friday and temps will peak into the mid 90s.
"Hot and humid conditions are expected through the weekend, with the hottest conditions expected Saturday," the NWS says.

For Southern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says a Heat Advisory is in effect from noon Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday.
"HEAT INDEX VALUES...95 to 104 on Friday and up to 110 Saturday and Sunday.

* TIMING...12 pm Friday through 10 pm Saturday..
* IMPACTS...Extreme heat can cause illness and death among at-risk population who cannot stay cool. The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
For Northern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says, the Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from noon Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday.
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...On Friday expect values 95 to 100 degrees. Saturday and again Sunday values are expected to range from 107 to 112 degrees.
* TIMING...Noon Friday through Sunday evening, however the very worst of the heat will occur Saturday and Sunday.
* TEMPERATURE...Actual air temperatures will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s Friday, increasing to the 96 to 102 degree range both Saturday and Sunday. It will not cool off much overnight,
with lows in most areas only dropping to the mid 70s.
* Impacts...The level of heat and humidity is very dangerous for any extended exposure.
