Greenwich Arts Group Takes Fight with Stamford Post Office to U.S. Supreme Court
The Center for Art and Mindfulness says the sale of the U.S. Post Office building in downtown Stamford to a developer was wrong.

STAMFORD, CT — The Greenwich-based Center for Art and Mindfulness argues that the sale of the U.S. Post Office building in downtown Stamford to developer Louis Cappelli was wrong, and they want the U.S. Supreme Court to review it.
The Greenwich group says it was willing to pay $5 million for the historic building at 421 Atlantic St., but the Postal Service messed up the sale and ended up selling it to Cappelli for $4.3 million, reports the Greenwich Time.

Representatives for the arts group have first tried to appeal to the Postal Service about the sale and a circuit court of appeals, but said they will fight it all the way to the country's highest court. In the meantime, Cappelli has begun work on their project, which will incorporate the historic building into a mixed-use project.
