Greenwich Coronavirus: Hospital Changes Visitation Policy

Hospital officials confirmed the visitation policy has changed in light of rising cases of the coronavirus in the area.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Hospital announced this week it will reduce the amount of visitors allowed at the hospital due to "increased [coronavirus] numbers in the state and region."

Magaly Olivero, a spokesperson for the hospital, said patients will only be allowed one visitor per day from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday. Patients were previously allowed more than one visitor if they swapped in and out during that timeframe, Olivero said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"Exceptions will continue to be made on a one-on-one basis for maternity, pediatric, disabled, end-of-life and other specific patient groups," Olivero said in an email. "There are no other changes to our visitor policy at this time."
