Greenwich Offers Information On Absentee Ballots For 2020 Primary
The town has released information on absentee ballots, secure drop boxes and more for residents to vote absentee in the Aug. 11 primary.
GREENWICH, CT — While polling locations will remain open in Greenwich next month, residents will have the option to stay home and vote in the Aug. 11, 2020, primary.
In a statement, town officials said residents will be able to vote absentee this year, thanks to an executive order signed by Gov. Ned Lamont allowing all registered voters in Connecticut to vote absentee in the upcoming primary.
Secretary of the State Denise Merrill sent an application out to every registered Democrat and Republican in the state, which voters must fill out and return in order to obtain an absentee ballot, officials said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The application will be sent via U.S. Postal Service and include a postage paid return envelope, officials said. All voters who request an absentee ballot will receive the ballots, which will also include a postage paid return envelope, in the mail beginning July 21.
Greenwich will also have two secure ballot drop boxes, located at police headquarters (1 Bruce Place) and the guest parking lot at Town Hall (101 Field Point Road), to allow voters to deliver their absentee ballots in person without close personal contact.

"For those who would still like to appear in person to cast their vote, our polling locations will remain open," officials said in a statement, "however the ability to vote absentee will ensure that the democratic process continues safely and securely."
