Greenwich Police Ask Bikers, Skateboarders To Stay Off Sidewalk
Police said they have received complaints about adults and children riding skateboards and bikes on sidewalks along Greenwich Avenue.
GREENWICH, CT — Police took to social media this week to remind bikers and skateboarders in town to stay off the sidewalks in Greenwich's business districts.
In a Facebook post Monday evening, police said the department has received a number of complaints about both adults and children riding skateboards and bikes on sidewalks along Greenwich Avenue, a street filled with many shops and restaurants.
"Sidewalks are for pedestrian use only," police said on Facebook, "and riding skateboards and bikes on the sidewalk is prohibited in the business districts in Greenwich."

Police ask parents and guardians to advise their children not to ride bikes or skateboards on these sidewalks. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
"Also, for the adults, please stay off the sidewalks when riding bikes," police said, "and do not impede vehicle traffic [by] zooming down the middle of [Greenwich Avenue] on skateboards."
