The Greenwich Police Department will host a toy drive this month to help "make some kids smile this holiday season."
GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department will host a holiday toy drive Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In an announcement, police said the drive will support parents who need help buying their children holiday gifts this year.
All types of new and unwrapped toys will be accepted, then donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Program, police said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"This has been a rough year for many families with children," the announcement reads. "Let's all chip in and make some kids smile this holiday season. Please help us in our efforts to help those less fortunate and who have been financially impacted by [the coronavirus]."
Additionally, residents are invited to hang an ornament on a tree set up in the police department's lobby this month. Police said the tree will also be used as a drop-off location for new and unwrapped toys.
