CT Halloween Weather Forecast: 50 MPH Wind Gusts, Heavy Rain
The National Weather Service has issued several weather alerts for Halloween and Friday in Connecticut. Here are the new details.

CONNECTICUT — There is some good news and some very bad news concerning the forecast for Halloween and early Friday morning. First the good news: If your child is eagerly awaiting going trick-or-treating this evening, it looks like the rain will be on the light side between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and it might even be dry for a period of time in some locations during that time frame.
And that ends the good news portion of this weather story. There is a lot of bad news. The rain that is currently falling this morning will be off and on throughout the morning and early afternoon but it should taper off to light rain showers this afternoon and early evening.
The problem is later tonight, as the rain restarts, thunderstorms are expected and the biggest concern are wind gusts that could approach 50 mph at times late Thursday and especially early Friday. Power outages are a real concern during the overnight hours. Parts of Connecticut might also see a freeze on Friday night too. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for all of Connecticut by the National Weather Service. (Sign up for Patch's free news alerts here.)
