Here's When To Expect Thunderstorms This Weekend In CT

If you have outdoor weekend plans, here are new details on when Connecticut may see thunderstorms.

CONNECTICUT — The weekend weather forecast in Connecticut looks pretty good overall but there is one area of concern for rain showers and thunderstorms. On Saturday afternoon, likely after 2 p.m., showers and thunderstorms are possible across the state.

It's not expected to be a washout but it's definitely something to pay attention to if you have outdoor plans. Sunday looks great with sunshine and temps in the mid to upper 80s.

The National Weather Service says it will be mostly dry on Friday but there may be a rain shower this afternoon and evening but the best chance for rain and storms is on Saturday.

"The chance for showers and thunderstorms increases from west to east Saturday into Saturday night. Dry conditions return on Sunday. High temperatures in the middle 80s are forecast Friday and Saturday. Slightly warmer high temperatures in the middle and upper 80s are expected on Sunday."

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Nice weather expected for the day today! Sunshine with some passing clouds from time to time and high temperatures in the 80s. The humidity will be on the low side through the afternoon. A brief shower near the New York state line this evening. Tomorrow will start a little cloudy with some sun midday. Be ready for showers and thunderstorms to pop up in the afternoon and evening. It will be humid tomorrow! Less humidity and bright skies for Sunday!"
