GREENWICH, CT — Firefighters worked Wednesday evening to extinguish a large structure fire in the backcountry area of Greenwich.

In a Thursday morning post on the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Facebook page, fire officials said crews first extinguished the large volume of fire outside the structure, then worked to put out the flames that had spread to inside the structure.

"One unique challenge was the lack of any pressurized hydrants," the post reads, "so companies had to rely on a tanker shuttle and drafting operations."
