Man Charged With Walking On Train Tracks, Carrying Weapon: Police

Police arrested a 19-year-old man earlier this week after he trespassed on the Metro North train tracks in Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — Police arrested a 19-year-old man earlier this week after he trespassed on the Metro North train tracks in Greenwich.

At 6:30 a.m. on Monday, according to police, a passerby reported that they observed a man walking north on the train tracks towards the Greenwich train station.

Upon arrival, officers observed the man, later identified as Quadele Vickers of Derby, Conn., walking on the tracks before he pulled himself up onto the New Haven side platform.

"On scene officers also observed a pocket knife that was secreted in the waist band of the accused. The knife was determined to be spring loaded that made the blade come out by pressing a button," according to the police report.

Vickers was arrested and charged with trespassing on railroad property, and carrying a dangerous weapon. Vickers was unable to post his $500 bond, and was placed in a Greenwich Police Department cell block.

Vickers has a court date in Stamford on June 14.
