New Italian Steakhouse To Open In Greenwich

Macelleria Italian Steakhouse is set to open in Greenwich soon. There are two other locations in Westchester County.

GREENWICH, CT — A new restaurant is getting ready to open up in Greenwich.

Located at 2 S. Water St., the former location of the restaurant Char, will be Macelleria Italian Steakhouse. Although there is no confirmed open date or operating hours yet, the new digs will open for lunch and dinner before summer arrives, according to their website.

According to their website, Macelleria Greenwich is described as "exceptional American Cuisine with an Italian flair – served in a warm atmosphere where the emphasis is on comfort, taste and above all, relaxation and enjoyment."

The menu will feature an assortment of Italian cuisine and pastas, seafood and steaks, alongside an "expertly curated wine list."

Current dinner menu items include a wide range of appetizers, from Clams Oreganata (baked clams topped with bread crumbs lemon, white wine) for $24, to mini-braised meat balls with tomato, basil, and mascarpone cheese for $14.

There are soups, salads, eight pasta options, and 10 entree options with something for everyone

Steak and chop offerings include Filet Mignon, NY Strip, Rib Eye, Lamb Chops, Veal Chop. A dessert menu will be made available soon.

"Owned by restaurateur Anthony Lala, with Chef Joe Fusco at the helm, this is a can’t-miss menu," according to the Michelin Guide 2021.

First Selectman Fred Camillo will hold an event at the restaurant on June 8 to discuss his re-election campaign and plans for a second term as Greenwich's chief elected official. Guests will be able to enjoy light fare.

There are two other Macelleria locations in Westchester County: Armonk, N.Y., and Pelham, N.Y.
