"While the state is allowing for outdoor gatherings of 25 people, and indoor dining in restaurants, it is imperative that residents remember that face masks need to be worn when social distancing of six feet is not possible," town officials said in a statement. "Frequent hand-washing also is advised."
In light of the Fourth of July holiday weekend coming up, town officials also offered public health guidelines for residents who are planning events. Anyone attending or hosting a barbecue is asked to have everyone bring their own food and plastic utensils.
Officials also said food should go directly from the grill to a person's plate as opposed to a big tray of food. Different households are also encouraged to sit together, separately from others.
"Whether you are heading to the beach, a pool or dining out, wear your mask and stay at least six feet apart from those not in your household," officials said. "Bring your own disinfectant wipes to clean shared chairs or pool toys."
Anyone traveling from one of the 14 states recently identified as "high infection rate states" are also mandated to self-quarantine for 14 days.
"A negative COVID-19 test result does not mean the quarantine advisory can be ignored, as the incubation period can last up to 10 or more days," officials said.
