Obituary: Donna Gasiorowski, 81, Of Greenwich

Donna pursued a nurse's assistant designation and eventually provided care for Dorothy Walker Bush, the mother of George H.W. Bush.

Donna Gasiorowski, 81, of Greenwich, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021. Donna grew up in Ostroleka, Poland to parents Jan and Konstancja Rajkowski.

She earned a degree at the Swiadectwo Dojrzalosci Technikum in 1958. She met her future husband John at a dance that same year. They married in 1962. In 1964, they moved to the United States to begin a new life together.

She lovingly raised her own two children and provided care for a third. Initially working at a catering company, Donna then pursued a nurse's assistant designation and eventually provided care for Dorothy Walker Bush, the mother of George H.W. Bush.

A gracious host and homemaker, she always “topped off” your plate to ensure you had plenty to eat. It was always Thanksgiving whenever you visited her.

She loved her family and was always there for them. She would drop anything to provide advice, help you clean a room or just sew a button. She was an extraordinary lady.

Donna is survived by her loving husband John J and her sons John S (Sandra) and Robert (Patricia) along with her grandchildren Victoria and John.

A private ceremony will be held at Thomas Gallagher Funeral Home in Stamford.
