Portion Of Pemberwick Road To Be Closed Beginning June 28

Construction to repair a retaining wall and guiderails on Pemberwick Road will begin on Monday.

GREENWICH, CT — Beginning Monday, June 28, Pemberwick Road will be closed from Halock Drive to Comly Avenue for a construction project that is anticipated to last until the end of August, depending on weather, according to Greenwich Department of Public Works. vehicular and pedestrian traffic in both directions will be detoured.

Construction will begin on the Pemberwick Road retaining wall and guardrail. Sections of retaining wall supporting the southbound lane of Pemberwick Road (between Comly Avenue and Halock Drive) were found to be in poor condition and require reconstruction, according to the Town website.

Upon further inspection, guiderails in this vicinity were determined to be out of compliance with current codes, so they need to be replaced. GM2 Associates, Inc. proposes the construction of cast-in-place concrete retaining walls and the installation of code-compliant guiderails.
