Start Smart Sports Development Program In Greenwich
The program is designed to prepare children and parents for organized sports.
GREENWICH, CT - From the Town of Greenwich: Greenwich Parks and Recreation announces that registration for the 2019 Start Smart Sports Development Program opens Wednesday, May 1! Start Smart is a co-ed program for Greenwich resident youth that focuses on preparing children and parents for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment. The program is for ages 3-5 with a parent/guardian. Parent-child groups perform motor skill tasks that gradually build confidence in children while they are having fun at the same time! The program works on developing the skills of throwing, catching, batting, and kicking. Start Smart will take place on Tuesdays starting July 9 until August 13 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Teufel Field in Byram Park.
Registration opens online Wednesday, May 1 for Greenwich residents. To register online go to:
www.greenwichct.gov/webtrac and click on the Parks and Recreation logo. Mail-in registration
to the Parks and Recreation Office will begin Monday, June 3. Applications should not be
postmarked earlier than June 3. In-person registration at the Parks and Recreation Office will be
available starting Monday, June 17. Space is limited and registration is first come, first serve.
Registration forms are available in the Recreation Office located at Town Hall and can be
downloaded online at www.greenwichct.gov: click on Parks and Recreation and then youth
programs under Recreation.
