Tornado Warning Expires In Fairfield County, Dangerous Winds Now
The National Weather Service has issued a damaging wind threat for Fairfield and New Haven counties.

FAIRFIELD/NEW HAVEN COUNTY — The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for central sections of Fairfield County until 2:15 p.m. and the advisory has since expired.
Two severe thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado were located in the Norwalk and Danbury areas respectively, the weather service said prior to 2 p.m.
"Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter," the weather service said at the time of the warning. "Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."

Strong winds and storms have knocked out power to more than 60,000 Connecticut residents.

The weather service also said there is a damaging wind threat developing through 3 p.m. for all of Fairfield and New Haven County.
"Sustained winds of 40-50 mph with gusts to 65 mph will develop through 3 pm," the weather service said concerning both Fairfield and New Haven County. "For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If in a place that is near large trees, in a mobile home, upper floors of a high rise building, or on a boat, consider moving to a safer shelter before the onset of strong wind."
News 12 CT reporter Marissa Alter shared on Twitter a photo of a tree that fell on a car on Wilton Road at Kings Highway in Westport. The driver was not injured, she reported.

Metro-North said service on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines is now suspended due to high winds and hazardous conditions caused by Tropical Storm Isaias.
