GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Town Hall has reopened to the public nearly seven months after shutting its doors in March and restricting entrance to residents with appointments.

The building is now open to walk-ins from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Barbara Heins, Executive Assistant to First Selectman Fred Camillo, said face masks are required to enter the building and must be worn inside. She also noted visitors have been complying to this requirement.

"There are hand sanitizing stations throughout the building," Heins said, "as well as decals indicating proper social distancing."

Additionally, all counters and work areas have been outfitted with plexiglass cough and sneeze guards to protect both employees and the public, Heins said.

Though the public has been allowed back in the building, Heins said meetings will continue to be held virtually for the foreseeable future. Residents are also still encouraged to plan ahead.

"While the building is open on a limited basis," Heins said, "we continue to encourage the public to use our online services or to make an appointment."

The building shut down in March in response to the coronavirus. It was partially reopened to residents in June on an appointment-only basis.
