Travelers are asked to use caution and not to approach downed wires, as they may be energized, according to police.

GREENWICH, CT — Trees and power lines are down across Greenwich after a fast-moving, powerful storm rolled through the state Sunday night, according to police.

Police ask travelers to use caution and not to approach downed wires, as they may be energized. Eversource and the town tree department are assessing the situation and will be prioritizing work, police said on Twitter. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Road closures were reported in area of 8 Lower Cross Road and 312 Taconic Road early Monday morning, according to police. Eversouce has been notified of these as well, police said.
