Celebrate Earth Day At North Guilford Farm Nurseries Farmstand
Live music, a very cool vibe, and glorious plants all on what weather forecasters are predicting will be a stunning spring Saturday.
NORTH GUILFORD, CT — CJ Christensen says that his nursery and farmstand has been a "kind of word-of-mouth" business and while he says, "I like it that way," he hopes that more folks find their way out to his oasis on Durham Road because, "It's a cool spot to come, learn, share and maybe buy a flower." Or more. And there's plenty more.
On a recent visit to his North Guilford Nurseries Farmstand, with a quintessentially New England red barn planted near the road, Patch found uncommon herbs, like chocolate mint, a decades-old fig tree, and a voluminous lavender plant that was not for sale: his sister covets it, he said. Full, towering rosemary, every spring flower imaginable, veggies and rows of succulents.

Way too young to be an old hippie, he's got that vibe and what feels like an old soul. A happy guy surrounded by nature. He likes it that way. So the Earth Day Jam set for Saturday is just what you'd expect at his nursery and farm. He's also been working on the North Guilford Agricultural Club and sustainability projects to help Mother Earth.

For Earth Day, CJ says: "We are all guilty of some carbon footprint here on Mother Earth. This time of the year we like to remember that our love for cars, toys, the sweetest sweets, rock ‘n’ roll, video games, trucks, bikes or any petroleum-based products comes out in environmental cost. To combat this, we ask you to take a step closer to balancing your energy exchange. Plant a garden. Plant a tree. Pick up some trash on a trail. Conserve fresh water. There are endless ways to give back to Mother Nature. If you are perfect and already do all these things, share your love for nature with a friend. Together we can have toys, sweets and fun by balancing our carbon footprint. Thank you all for caring. See you in the garden! Love always CJ."
The Earth Day Jam is Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
