Coins For Change Raises Money For Branford Youth Foundation

GUILFORD, CT — Connex Credit Union recently donated more than $760 to Dave's Dream Foundation to help the organization inspire and empower local youth through athletic, artistic and cultural endeavors.

The funds were raised at Connex’s Guilford branch as part of the credit union’s Coins-for-Change­ initiative which encourages members of the local community to use Connex’s coin-cashing machines to convert their spare change into cash. A small fee is collected for these services and then donated to various charitable organizations.

Dave’s Dream Foundation was founded by Dave Ricciardi, a Branford resident of more than 30 years, who raised three children in the town and firmly believed that youth sports can help young children grow into mature adults. Nothing disappointed Dave more than seeing a child who had the desire, motivation and talent to participate but couldn’t due to factors beyond their control. Dave’s Dream Foundation helps fill that void by providing kids with the funds, equipment, or support they need to pursue their passion.

“Thank you to everyone at Connex Credit Union for your continued support of local non-profits,” Dave’s Dream Foundation vice president Kelly Ricciardi said. "We are thrilled to receive the generous donation which will be put toward our mission of helping kids in our community participate in the sports, arts and other cultural activities they love.”
