Guilford 2020 Presidential Election: Trump's Vote Down From 2016

GUILFORD, CT - President Trump’s victory in Connecticut on Tuesday was in contrast to his performance in 2016, as his share of the vote fell from 40.93 percent then, to 40.57 percent now.

But it fell only very slightly; less than one percentage point.

So how did Trump's support in Guilford compare with his vote totals in 2016, when he was running against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

According to the Connecticut Secretary of State, Trump lost support in Guilford in 2020.

In 2016, he earned 37% of the vote with nearly 5,000 votes, compared to 33.23% and 4,262 votes in 2020.

Tuesday's vote climaxed a heated battle for control of the White House, unfolding during a pandemic that killed nearly a quarter of a million Americans before Election Day.
