Update: Guilford Complete Streets Demonstration Postponed

The project was created to make streets and roadways safer. Th demonstration set for Friday, Saturday has been postponed due to rain.

GUILFORD, CT — The second demonstration from Guilford Complete Streets was set for the intersection of New England and Long Hill roads Friday and Saturday, but has been postponed due to rain.

Speed data is being collected at the intersection. Among the modifications to slow traffic there includes a new temporary centerline, a new temporary stop bar, a temporary stop sign and the area being cordoned off with traffic cones.

Safe Streets, also known as "Complete Streets," are designed to safely accommodate all road users of all ages and abilities, including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, motorists, and commercial and emergency vehicles. Safe Streets contribute to a comprehensive, integrated, and equitable multi-modal network of transportation options.
