In late October, the Guilford Fire Department received a $240,000 Trailer for Heavy-Rescue which will allow them to respond faster and perform more complicated rescues, according to the Guilford Courier.
“It is a special missions trailer that has specialized rescue equipment on it,” said Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Vetre via the Guilford Courier. He added how important he thinks it is to have such equipment in the shoreline area.
According to a report from the Guilford Courier, the equipment was funded through a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
