The Guilford Land Preservation Trust recently received two major donations.

According to the New Haven Register, Guilford resident Elizabeth O. Kyburg who passed away in August donated $150,000 to the trust. Part of the donation will likely go to the trust’s stewardship endowment.

A more recent gift to the trust came in the form of a land donation.

The children of Agnes L. Landon and John H. Landon recently agreed to donate 5.5 acres of salt marsh to the Guilford Land Conservation Trust in memory of their parents, long-time Guilford residents, GLCT announced in a press release last week. The parcel stretches from near Water Street to the West River, just north of the Amtrak rail line.

“This marsh is part of one of Guilford’s iconic views from Water Street to the West River, and we are grateful to the Landon family for their gift,” Sarah S. Williams, president of the land trust said in the press release.
