GUILFORD, CT - The Guilford Police Animal Shelter is warning everyone that the heat wave we are in the middle of is dangerous for pets, too.
On their Facebook page, the shelter says the following:
“Well folks, it looks like summer isn't done with us yet! It's going to be extremely hot out there today, so we need to look out for our pets! Please, leave your pets home, do not bring them in the car with you.

“In this heat and humidity, a car can become a death trap in minutes for our pets. Also, limit outdoor time to a few minutes to take care of business, then back inside. If you do need to take your dog on a walk later today, keep in mind how hot the pavement will be.”
