Nearly 500 Dispose Of Hazardous Waste At Town's First Collection
Staff and volunteers helped ensure a smooth process where 487 households-worth of waste was collected at Guilford's first collection effort.

GUILFORD, CT — In this case, first time's a charm.
The town held its first household hazardous waste collection last Saturday. And what a turnout.
Town officials said that a total of 487 households-worth of waste was collected." And, it reported that a "handful of people" even came from a few other nearby towns.

"Everyone was so appreciative of having the opportunity to stay in town to properly dispose of their hazardous waste," the town's Facebook post reads.
And it noted that as a reminder, that folks can recycle paint by returning cans to a "local paint store."
