New Restaurant A Possibility at Guilford Yacht Club
Guilford Yacht Club officials say they are considering proposing a new restaurant near the marina; Town officials back the plan.

GUILFORD, CT - Association members of the Guilford Yacht Club are exploring the idea of opening up a “small restaurant” at the location - stating it would be an ideal site for seaside dining.
The Planning and Zoning Commission, at its February 16th meeting, approved changing zoning regulations to allow restaurants to be built in marina areas - although each restaurant - including Guilford Yacht Club - would still need to have its individual application approved by zoners.
Patrick Doyle, a member of the Unit Owners at the Guilford Yacht Club, had written a letter to the Planning and Zoning Commission, asking the commission to consider a change in regulations to allow possible opening of a future restaurant at the yacht club.

Doyle said he understands if the commission would change regulations it would still require the yacht club filing for a special permit for the restaurant.
Economic Development Coordinator Brian McGlone, at the PZC’s January meeting, said he believes “a new restaurant showing the waterfront would be beneficial to the town.”
