With No Tree-Lighting, Help Needed For 'Magical Wonderland'

GUILFORD, CT — The pandemic has changed the way we celebrate many things. But communities adjust because while COVID-19 has taken away some of our in-person celebrations it cannot take away the spirit of the season.

The Guilford Parks and Recreation Department announce the first ever Magical Wonderland - Celebrating the Holidays: Past, Present and Future.

"Due to COVID-19, there will be no formal tree lighting this year," the Facebook post reads, but the "Magical Wonderland will provide residents another reason to stroll the Guilford Green and enjoy the holiday season."

And that's where you come in.

"We are looking for organizations, businesses and residents to help decorate the Guilford Green and provide a magical wonderland for all to enjoy. Decorations are to be set up during the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 on the south end of Green. The possibilities are endless: a decorative sleigh/wagon, snowman, gingerbread house and more."
