Obituary: Ernest H. F. Cheung, MD, 86, of Guilford
Dr. Cheung, who had a private practice in North Branford, was committed to his patients, many generational, even to making house calls.

Ernest H. F. Cheung, MD, of Guilford died peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Linda K. M. Cheung.
Dr. Cheung was born in Kwangtung, China on June 17, 1934. He attended school in China and Hong Kong before going to college and medical school in the Philippines. Following graduation from the University of the East Medical School in 1967, he did his residency at the Hospital of St. Raphael. In 1972 he established his private practice in North Branford where he remained committed to providing the highest level of personal care (including house calls!) for his patients, who were often multiple generations within a family. He retired to a quieter life in 2003.
Dr. Cheung was known as a man of few words, extremely conscientious in all his pursuits, and devoted to his family, both near and far.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter, Irene Cheung of Washington, DC, and one brother and three sisters in China.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 13th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with burial to follow in Alderbrook Cemetery in Guilford.
