Obituary: Leslie Mathews Phillips, 88, Longtime Guilford Resident

Monday, March 8, 2021 Leslie Mathews Phillips longtime resident of Guilford and most recently of North Branford passed away at Evergreen Woods, North Branford. Wife of the late Duncan M. Phillips. Leslie was born in Culpeper, VA on June 16, 1932, daughter of the late William J. Mathews, Sr and Jesse (Lahm) Mathews. Leslie was survived by her nephew Paul Mathews and his wife Andriette of Hillsdale, NJ, her nephew John Mathews of Stirling, NJ and her niece Patricia Mathews of Marlborough, MA.

Mrs. Phillips received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Rochester and worked for the New York Daily News before her marriage. She later held a sales position with Benham Industries in Bridgeport, CT.

A Memorial Service for Leslie Phillips will be held at a future date at the Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park Street, Guilford, CT 06437. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, of Guilford, CT.
